On Wednesday, my family experienced a tragedy that no parent or grandparent should ever endure. My beloved daughter, Shalimar (33) and my precious granddaughter, Aliv’eyah (11) were tragically taken from us far too soon.

Shalimar was a loving mother, daughter and friend whose kindness touched so many lives. Aliv’eyah was a bright, beautiful child with a loving heart and a promising future. Their loss has left our family devastated more than words can describe.

In the midst of this unimaginable grief, I have also had to take emergency custody of Shalimar's two other children, my grandchildren. As I work to provide them with stability, comfort, and care during this heartbreaking time, I am facing the financial burden of arranging funeral and memorial services for both Shalimar and Aliv’eyah.

We are hoping to raise $8,000 to cover these costs and provide a very modest service and cremation for both Shalimar and Aliv’eyah. If somehow we raise more than the goal, every dollar will go toward care of my 2 other grandchildren who lost their Mom. Any donation, no matter the amount, will help ease this burden and allow me to focus on caring for my grandchildren as we move forward together.
