Support for SGM (Ret) Ed Hall and Family

Donation protected
Purpose: This page has been set up for Sergeant Major (SGM) (Retired) Edward Hall and his family in an effort to offset memorial and funeral costs for Tanya Hall, beloved wife of Ed and loving mother to their three boys, Eddie (16), Joey (12), and Tyler (9). Tanya passed away at home on 14 December, 2021 after a long battle with brain cancer, leaving behind a void of kindness that can never be replaced and a family who will forever miss her.

Background: In 2008, SGM (R) Hall and Tanya PCSd to Okinawa, Japan for a five year overseas tour, where SGM (R) Hall spent an average of ten months of each year deployed or TDY while Tanya cared for the boys. During this time, Tanya began suffering from temporal lobe seizures. Limited medical resources in Okinawa and subsequent misdiagnosis failed to identify a brain tumor. In 2013, after returning Stateside, doctors discovered a fist sized, Grade 3 tumor which required surgery and six months of radiation. With the determination of a warrior queen, Tanya fought through radiation and recovery and regained enough strength to assume her cherished roles of mother, wife, and head of household. Her recovery permitted Ed one last combat deployment to Afghanistan with his Company.

In 2018, the tumor was discovered to be growing again, leading to one year of chemotherapy. Through chemo, Tanya displayed strength, grace, and beauty. In August 2020, a second fast growing tumor was discovered and immediate surgery followed. Tanya spent three weeks in the hospital and underwent chemotherapy. In August 2021, Tanya's health deteriorated and the family was informed that all possible medical treatments options had been exhausted. Tanya was enrolled into hospice care to spend her final days at home in the comfort of Ed, Eddie, Joey, and Tyler. She fought for three and a half months, all the while being the strong, loving mother and wife she has always been. Tanya passed away on 14 December, 13 days before what who have been she and Ed's 18th wedding anniversary. She was only forty years old.

Final Note: SGM (R) Hall recently medically retired from the Army after more than 20 years of service with the Army Special Forces. His combat deployments and overseas tours include Iraq (3), Afghanistan (1) and more than twenty other countries in support of Special Operations missions. SGM (R) Hall is a 100% disabled veteran. As Tanya's primary caregiver, he has been unable to accept a job to supplement his retirement income. The money raised through the gofundme will be used for memorial and funeral costs as well as to offset bills and other expenses while the family grieve and adapt to life without Tanya. The Hall family is eternally grateful for the outreach, prayers, and continued support from  this amazing community.
