Hi, my name is Katie, Seth’s step mom. His family and I are fundraising to help Seth cover household and family expenses and medical bills during his recovery from surgery.

Seth Coffman is a loving son, brother, husband, and father to two daughters, a 2 y/o and a newborn. Seth is also a dedicated full time EMT for the City of St. Louis Fire Department, with a second job at Anheuser-Busch on the weekends. Seth truly devotes his entire life to caring for and helping others.

Seth’s journey of medical struggles started at birth – he was 5 weeks premature, suffered from a stroke, and was put on ECMO for 5 days after. Unfortunately, stays at the hospital became frequent in Seth’s childhood, including over a dozen medical procedures by the time he was 12. It wasn’t until his appendix burst (due to a prior misdiagnosis) that doctors finally discovered that Seth was born with Intestinal Malrotation.

Fast forward to August 7th, 2023, after days in pain, Seth finally went to the ER. After a week in the hospital with no real answers, more tests revealed that Seth needed emergency surgery to remove his colon. Seth will have to go back for an additional surgery in 3-4 months. Although surgery went well, he still has a very long recovery process.

With that, he will be out of work for the foreseeable future. With no short or long-term disability options and therefore, no way to contribute to his family’s financial needs (like mortgage, bills, car payments, diapers, formula, etc.), we are asking others to consider donating to help Seth and his family during this unfortunate time.
