On March 18th, Serena suffered a stroke at just 29 years old. She is currently still in hospital, and we are doing everything we can to support her recovery while managing the financial reality of it all.

For anyone who doesn’t know who Serena is, she’s a cheesemonger and has spent years building a deep, hands-on knowledge of cheeses of every kind even going so far to get a cheesemonger cert. She is also extremely passionate about music, and synthesizers, knowing how to program many and make her own pedals and that knowledge and curiosity is a core part of who she is. Watching her be unable to access those parts of herself in the aftermath of the stroke has been one of the hardest things for both of us to face.

Before this happened, Serena was the primary earner in our household. Her sudden hospitalisation has left us without that income at the exact moment our expenses have increased significantly.

The funds raised will go toward:

* Hospital bills and medical costs already incurred

* Ongoing rehabilitation and care as Serena continues to recover

* Day-to-day living costs and lost income while she is unable to work
