Seham Hassen was truly a beautiful soul—inside and out. She had a gentle presence, a kind heart, and a way of making people feel seen, cared for, and valued. At just 22 years old, she was a loving daughter, a supportive sister, a caring aunt, and a deeply cherished friend. She brought so much joy and warmth into the lives of those around her, and her absence is deeply felt by all who knew and loved her.

Seham passed away after being struck in a hit-and-run while crossing the street—such a sudden and heartbreaking loss. In moments like these, we are reminded of Allah’s words: “Indeed, to Allah we belong and to Him we will return.” From Him we came, and to Him we return, and we trust in His wisdom and mercy in all that He decrees. She was someone who lived for others. Seham was selfless in the most genuine way—always giving, always showing up, always thinking of how she could help. She was on track to graduate this May with her bachelor’s degree in public health, with hopes of continuing into the medical field so she could care for others and give back to her community. That was who she was at her core—someone who wanted to heal, to serve, and to make a difference for people.

We ask Allah to have mercy on Seham, to forgive her shortcomings, and to reward her for her intentions and the الخير she carried in her heart. May Allah grant her Jannatul Firdaus, expand her grave, and fill it with light and peace.
