Sean Thompson, my husband, has always been the kindest and most selfless person I know. Since May, he has been quietly battling lung cancer, never wanting to inconvenience anyone or ask for help. But the day before Thanksgiving, our world changed when I found Sean unresponsive in our bed. He was rushed to the hospital and has been on a ventilator ever since. Watching him so helpless has been devastating for our family, and the uncertainty of what comes next is difficult to endure.
For those who know Sean, you already know how quick he is to help others—no questions asked. For those who don’t, I want you to know that he would be the first to offer a hand to anyone in need. He would probably be mortified that I am starting a GoFundMe for him, but I can’t let him suffer in silence. With his inability to work and mounting medical bills, I want to do everything I can to ease his burden and give him the support he deserves.
We are facing a future filled with unknowns, but I know that with the help of our community, we can get through this. If you can find it in your hearts to support Sean, we would be eternally grateful. The love Sean has shown to others is something he deserves in return. Thank you for your kindness and support.
