Support for Sean Wood’s Family & Baby John

Sean Wood is an apprentice Lineman Splicer at the F&M Service Center, and a dedicated member of the Evergy family. Alongside his wife, Emily, Sean has always been quick to lend a hand to others, serving on their town’s volunteer fire department and helping anyone in need. Now, Sean and his family are facing a challenge that no parent should have to endure alone.

Sean’s 3-month-old son, John, was born with Pierre Robin Sequence and will require extensive reconstructive jaw surgery to improve his breathing, eating, and weight gain. After more than a month of hospital visits, John is scheduled for surgery on January 29th and will need to spend between a month and seven weeks in the PICU at Children’s Mercy hospital. During this difficult time, Sean and Emily will need to take significant time away from work to care for John and their 2-year-old daughter, putting additional financial strain on their family.

The money raised through this fundraiser will help Sean and his family cover mounting medical bills, lost income from time away from work, and the many expenses that come with lengthy hospital stays. Sean and Emily have always been there for their community—now it’s our turn to be there for them. Any support you can offer will make a meaningful difference for this loving family as they navigate the road ahead.
