Barbara Ballard and Sean Anderson have faced an incredibly difficult journey together. Their story began in Reno Nevada, where Barbara was first diagnosed with breast cancer in 2020. With support of her family, they moved back to Crescent City Ca so she could receive treatment and undergo a double mastectomy. After her surgery, doctors gave her the hopeful news she was cancer free.

six years later, Barbara began feeling unwell again. About 7 months ago, after a series of CT scans, doctors delivered the devastating news that her cancer had returned as stage 4 and had metastasized. Tumors were found in her lungs, spine, ribs, sternum, shoulders, hips and multiple lymph nides. With no curative options left, Barbara is now on hospice, where she is being kept comfortable both physically and mentally surrounded by love and faith.

This journey has made it impossible for Barbara and Sean to continue working. Barara dedicated her career to supporting adults with disabilities and Sean works at Crescent Ace Hardware. Now they are facing not only the emotional toll of this illness but also the financial strain of covering rent, bills, food, medications and upcoming funeral expenses.
