On September 3, 2026, our family said goodbye to a man who was deeply loved and whose absence will be felt by so many. Raymond “Scott” Raymer, 56, went home to be with the Lord Jesus and those who went before him.
Scott’s passing came suddenly and completely unexpectedly. On August 26, he experienced a traumatic medical emergency that left his family by his side, praying and hoping for a different outcome. After days of uncertainty, our family received the heartbreaking news that Scott had passed.
Scott was funny, charismatic, and, at his core, a truly godly man. He had a way of making people feel welcome and bringing laughter into a room. More than anything, though, Scott loved his family. His daughters and grandchildren were incredibly important to him, and some of his happiest moments were simply spent together with them.
One of the things they especially loved doing together was kayaking. Those moments—being outside, laughing, spending time together, and making memories—are the kinds of things his family will carry with them forever.
Scott leaves behind two daughters and two grandchildren, along with a large family of siblings, nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends who are devastated by his sudden loss. The grief is immense, and the reality of having to say goodbye so unexpectedly has been incredibly difficult for everyone who loved him.
Along with the heartbreak comes a financial burden that no family should have to prepare for overnight. This GoFundMe has been created to help Scott’s daughters and family with the unexpected expenses surrounding his passing, including medical expenses, funeral and death related costs, travel expenses, time away from work, and other unforeseen costs that have come with this sudden loss.
Our hope is that we can help take at least some of that financial weight off Scott’s daughters’ shoulders so they can focus on what matters most right now: grieving their dad, supporting one another, and remembering the man he was.
If you knew Scott, you know how much he loved his family. If you didn’t have the opportunity to know him, we hope you can understand through these words just how deeply he was loved and how profoundly his family is hurting.
If you are able to give, any amount would mean more to Scott’s family than we can put into words. If you aren’t in a position to donate, we completely understand. Sharing this fundraiser, keeping his daughters and grandchildren in your prayers, or simply helping us spread Scott’s story is an incredible way to support them.
We are heartbroken to lose Scott, but we are grateful for the 56 years we were blessed to have him with us. We hold onto our faith and the promise that this is not goodbye forever. Until we meet again, Scott.
Please keep his daughters, grandchildren, and our entire family in your prayers.
Thank you for loving Scott, praying for our family, and helping us carry this burden during an incredibly difficult time.
