Scott Krieger is turning 56 this May. He and his wife Kathy have four children, two of whom are still at home. Although Scott is an extremely hard worker, their family has always struggled financially, especially since Scott’s job installing inground pools is seasonal and he gets laid off every winter. Last year, Kathy suffered a mild stroke and was out of work for a while, which put them in a deeper hole than usual.
Early this January, Scott noticed a pain and bump in his cheek. He scheduled an appointment to get it checked out right away. After weeks of tests and appointments, Scott was diagnosed with Oral Squamous Cell Carcinoma. By the end of February, the swelling in his cheek had grown significantly. He has just completed his second round of chemotherapy, with one more to go before surgery. The family is now facing mounting medical bills on top of their regular expenses, including their mortgage, car payments, food, and utilities.
Scott has always been the kind of person who would do anything to help his friends and family, even though he has trouble asking for help himself. He is very self-sufficient, but right now, he needs support. Any contribution, no matter how small, will make a difference for Scott and his family as they navigate this challenging time.
