It is with profound sadness that we share the passing of Melissa, the beloved wife of Scott Doty, our colleague from Berkley High School. Melissa passed away suddenly and recently due to complications from cancer and her long-standing chronic autoimmune disorders. Melissa was a kind, compassionate, and loving presence in the lives of everyone who knew her. She was a devoted wife to Scott and a deeply caring mother to their four children. Her warmth, strength, and kindness will be remembered always, and her loss leaves an immeasurable void in the hearts of her family and all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Scott is now facing the unimaginable task of navigating life without his partner while caring for their four children. Along with the emotional grief, the family is also dealing with the financial burdens it entails, including astronomical medical bills, funeral costs, and ongoing household costs. As a high school educator, this burden is unbearable alone.
