For those who know Scott and Gretta Stables—you understand that there are no words to describe just how kind spirited, loving, and generous they are. Their love for each other, their daughters, Chloe and Maggie, and their friends is without question and felt by everyone around them. I have never seen Scott without a smile on his face.

Late this summer Scott was hospitalized and misdiagnosed with Viral Encephalitis. Only after seeking second opinions at Northwestern, Scott was diagnosed with Grade 4 Glioblastoma. Unfortunately, by the time this was discovered, the cancer had spread to both sides of his brain. Within a week of diagnosis, Scott underwent brain surgery where they managed to get a portion of the cancer out of his right cortex, which alleviated his micro seizures, making him a bit more comfortable. But because the cancer is encroaching his brain stem, hippocampus, and language center, they were unable to surgically remove more. Scott is currently undergoing palliative chemotherapy and radiation treatment to slow the growth and spread, but this cancer is very aggressive and the prognosis is devastating.

Now the natural question on everyone's mind is... How can I help?

Right now the family would appreciate a centralized place for you to lend your support in order to use for large medical expenses that may quickly become overwhelming. I have asked for their blessing to set up this GoFundMe to help ease some of the financial burdens they are incurring as they continue to navigate all that is coming at them. Gretta thought it is important to mention that if there are leftover funds, she will be making a donation to a Glioblastoma Research organization at a future date.
