Thank you for taking the time to come to this page about my dog, Scooter, my firstborn baby, the little man that got me through everything in life to still be standing here today.
I had to rush him to the ER at the University of Wisconsin where he was hospitalized for a freak aspiration pneumonia where he has been fighting so hard. He was barely breathing when I got him in and potentially developing a CO2 coma.
This horrible event is occurring just 6 months after I had my first human baby—who was also in the NICU with breathing issues. Needless to say, this has been extremely difficult being postpartum. Seeing my babies suffering is something I hope no mom has to go through, yet I know it happens & we are always praying for others facing these difficult situations.
Scooter is the kind of dog that brightens every room & brings so much joy. From spending days in a sorority house to traveling the continental United States with me—he has touched lives & made friends all over. He has been the emotional support for us through hard familial times & losses, times of uncertainty; Scooter has always been there providing comfort and stinky kisses.
We are humbly asking for help financially during this time—saving my firstborn baby was the only route I knew to choose. And Scooty and God have proven that I’ve made the right choices as Scooter is so close to recovery. Truly a miracle and we couldn’t be more thankful for all of those praying and sending love Scooter’s way. With a newborn baby NICU stay and now this, we could use any help that’s out there.
Thank you so much again for taking the time to hear about Scooter, our family, and how much he is cherished in our lives. ♥️
