Scarlett North Hurless was life-flighted from Idaho Falls to St. Luke’s Children’s Hospital PICU in Boise, Idaho, due to necrotizing pneumonia, a severe and life-threatening condition. Since her hospital admission, Scarlett has undergone two surgical procedures for chest tube placement and is currently receiving TPA (tissue plasminogen activator) combined with DNase to treat complicated pleural infections. This therapy is helping break down clots and pus to improve chest tube drainage and support her recovery. While Scarlett’s condition is slowly stabilizing, her journey is far from over. Recovery is expected to take weeks, and she requires around-the-clock care.
During this time, her parents, Scott and Mary Catherine (JOY), have remained by her side, unable to return to work or home. The emotional, physical, and financial strain—especially during the Christmas season—has been overwhelming. The costs associated with prolonged hospitalization, travel, time away from work, and daily living expenses have created a significant hardship for this family.
Any support—whether financial assistance, prayers, or sharing this message—would mean so much to Scott, Mary Catherine (JOY), and Scarlett as they navigate this incredibly difficult time together. Thank you for your kindness, compassion, and support.
