On October 1st, Sarah was life-flighted to Vanderbilt in Nashville after having suffered a stroke while at home playing with her two young children. A few hours after her successful and rapid surgery to remove the clot from her brain, I received my first text from her that read "I love you. Casually life flighted on a Tuesday." She is now recovering at home with her husband and her sweet kiddos after an extensive stay in the ICU.
The first thing you've got to know about Sarah is that she is a freakin' powerhouse. This is her second stroke, and she also endured open heart surgery and the placement of an artificial valve. She has done all of this while homeschooling her two kids, running a business, and being the best dang wife, friend, and most loving member of the community that ever lived. Through all of these surgeries, weekly blood checks, medication fluctuations, giant scares... she still shows up and shows out in kindness for those she loves in SUCH a huge way that it makes me cry weekly.
The second thing you need to know is (and I can say this because I'm her best friend), she's reeeeeally bad at asking for help. And her and her family deserve all the help in the world right now with these mounting medical bills and keeping her cared for and healthy. I wanted to share this fund to help alleviate some of the financial burden for them as Sarah recovers and the family heals from this terrifying experience.
All funds received from this campaign will be used to cover Sarah's medical expenses and to cover bills for the family that may be due during the time off work that is required. If you've ever had a best friend that you'd do anything for or you know a mother that pushed through hell and back for her family refusing to let anything stand between her and her husband and kids... know that she is both of those things. Please, help me get the word out about this fundraiser and any amount you can donate is so so appreciated.
Thank you all for your kindness and support.
