Sara, my sister, is going through an incredibly tough time. Two weeks ago, during a subzero cold weekend, a heating-pipe burst causing a flood in her condo. Since then, she’s been working with insurance and cleaning out her apartment so repairs can begin. Even now, two weeks later, she is still waiting for the heat to be repaired. This crisis comes on top of other health and financial challenges she’s already been facing, along with the chaos happening in our city, all of which is making things even more overwhelming for her.

The funds raised here will go directly toward helping Sara cover repairs, living expenses, replacing items that were damaged in the flood, paying her insurance deductible, and other urgent assistance. Your support will help her get through this difficult period and give her some breathing room. Every little bit will make a difference in helping her rebuild, stabilize and move forward.

Sara has always been incredibly generous, especially to educators, and she’s shared her gifts of math, time, wisdom and baking with so many people over the years. She gives and gives, and it’s hard for her to receive, but she truly needs help right now.
