Please support Sandy and her family during this heartbreaking diagnosis

Hi everyone! I’m reaching out on behalf of my close friend Sandy and her family. She currently has a toddler boy (Matteo) and a baby on the way - due in May. I recently received heartbreaking news that Sandy’s partner, Sheldon, has been diagnosed with Stage 4 Colon Cancer, with possible spread to other areas (Liver and Lungs). They’re still waiting on more results, but things are very difficult right now.

Because of this, their family is struggling emotionally and financially. Matteo’s 2nd birthday is at the beginning of December, and they won’t be able to give him a birthday party or make Christmas special this year. They’re currently living in a small 1-bedroom place while trying to find something more affordable, and with only one income, things are extremely tight.

As her friend, I’ve put together this GoFundMe to bring them a bit of joy during such a painful time. I am also accepting donations—toddler toys for Matteo (birthday or Christmas), or anything for Sandy or her partner—it would mean the world to them. Absolutely anything helps. Because Sandy is someone who never wants to seem vulnerable or feel like a burden, I know she’d never ask for help herself—so anything donated will be given to her as a surprise for Christmas.

How will funds be used?

All funds generously donated by the community will be given entirely to Sandy and her family. I imagine these funds will be used to support her partner Sheldon's treatment, support the family's ongoing basic needs, prepare for the new baby's arrival and the year ahead.
