My name is Tommy, and I’m writing this as I sit by my mom Sandra Addington’s side in the ICU. She’s always been the heart of our family—caring, thoughtful, and willing to help anyone in need. Every time we saw her, she made sure to tell us she loved us. I wish I had told her more often how much she means to me, and if I could have one more moment, I’d never miss the chance to say, “I love you, Mom.”
Right now, Sandra is facing the toughest fight of her life. The doctors have told us her chances are very slim, and my family is struggling with decisions no one should ever have to make. If she pulls through, she’ll need help with medical bills, medicine, and rebuilding the porch at her home, which is caving in. If we have to say goodbye, I want to honor her with a service and resting place as beautiful as the life she lived. We’re not a wealthy family, but Sandra deserves the best we can give her.
Whether you’re able to help or not, thank you for taking the time to read about my mom. If you can’t donate, I just ask that you call your own mom or dad and tell them you love them while you still can. Your support, in any form, means the world to us.
