I am one of the teachers who was onsite at the Islamic Center of San Diego as the shooting happened. What we went through was horrific—no one should ever have to experience what we experienced, especially our sweet, innocent children. In these moments, we are distraught, but we will always stand by our school, our students, and our mosque.

As we try to recover, we are raising funds to provide therapy, school supplies, and any other needs for our teachers. This support will help us begin to heal, rebuild our sense of safety, and show our students that they are not alone. Our teachers have been incredible pillars of strength, and ensuring they have what they need is vital for the well-being of our entire school community.

We will be going back this week to start to clean up the aftermath, reunite our students with their belongings, and walk through the bullet holes, broken doors, walk past the horrific scenes we witnessed that day. I know you all have donated SO MUCH! You guys are absolutely AMAZING!! Thank you for supporting our teachers.
