My daughter Sam’s life changed dramatically a couple years ago when she began having seizures. The episodes forced her to quit working and driving, and she’s gone through every medication available, but nothing has helped. Disability has been a long and frustrating process, and her husband Jake works as much as he can. With all of Sam’s doctor appointments and raising three energetic boys, it’s been incredibly hard for their family. Now, after countless consultations, all the doctors have come to the conclusion that Sam needs a right brain total lobectomy.

The financial strain has been overwhelming. They are very behind on their mortgage, and the costs of travel for medical care and everyday household bills keep piling up. Jake is doing everything he can, but it’s just not enough with so many responsibilities and uncertainties. Sam is still in the process of trying to get disability, but that takes time and offers little relief right now.
