Support for Sam’s health and recovery

Today, I bring forth a heartfelt plea for our dear friend, Sam Valencia. Our paths first crossed nearly two decades ago on the hallowed grounds of Napa High, where we bonded over a shared passion for football. Little did I know that the teammate who once inspired me on the field would go on to become a coach and mentor for the next generation of young men at the same institution.

Sam's journey is one of resilience and determination. At the age of 13, he immigrated to the USA, carrying dreams of a better life and opportunities. Over the years, Sam has tirelessly worked to build a business, create a home for his family, and contribute to the community that has become his own. His commitment to the American Dream is unwavering, but today, we find it in jeopardy due to a cruel twist of fate—a formidable illness that threatens to derail the life he has worked so hard to build.

This page is a testament to our collective desire to stand by Sam in his time of need. Through the challenges of his health, Sam continues to selflessly give back to the place that welcomed him. As he coaches and volunteers at Napa High, he imparts not only football skills but life lessons, shaping the next generation into the exceptional individuals he himself has become.

Sam's selflessness extends beyond the workplace.

In October 2017, after returning home from a Raiders game, he became a hero in the face of danger. Warned about a fire on the hillside, Sam jumped into action, waking elderly neighbors and even twisting his ankle while helping others escape the flames. His bravery continued as he assisted those stranded, rescued pets, and even organized a toy drive for families who lost everything in the fires.

Sam's resilience, courage, and commitment to his American Dream serve as an inspiration to us all. However, the onset of this terrible illness has cast a shadow on his path. In creating this page, our aim is to rally around this remarkable brother of ours, offering financial support to alleviate the burden that his health challenge has placed on his dreams and aspirations.

The medical expenses ahead are uncertain, and the financial burden weighs heavily on Sam and his family.
