Support for Sam Swain & his family during his cancer battle
Donation protected
We're reaching out on behalf of our dear friend and colleague, Sam Swain - a devoted husband, stepped-up dad, and frontline paramedic for Durham Region. At just 42 years old, Sam has been diagnosed with stage four inoperable pancreatic adenocarcinoma, which has tragically spread to his liver and bowels.
Despite the heavy weight of this diagnosis, Sam continues to show the courage and compassion that he is known for - traits that have defined his years of service caring for others. Now, it's our turn to care for him.
Sam's chemotherapy treatments have been delayed due to a blocked bile duct, further complicating an already overwhelming situation. He is currently undergoing daily medical visits across multiple hospitals including Lakeridge Health Oshawa, Northumberland Hills Hospital and Princess Margaret Cancer Centre - a physically and emotionally exhausting routine for him and his family.
Sam and his loved ones live in Trent Hills, and the cost of travel, treatment, time away from work, and day to day expenses is placing an incredible financial strain on his family during the most difficult time of their lives.
Every donation - no matter the size - makes a meaningful difference. If you are not in a position to give, sharing this fundraiser with your network if just as valuable.
Let's rally around Sam, just as he has done for so many in his role as a paramedic. Together, we can give back to a man who has spent his life giving to others.
