Our beloved friend Safire needs our love, support, and prayers. I'm setting this fundraiser up to raise money for alternative, holistic treatments (TCM, Acupuncture, supplements, etc), as well as support so she doesn't have to work or worry about expenses through this challenging time and moving forward.

Safire is one of the kindest, most generous, and supportive friends. She has been a huge part of the East Van and Kootenay communities. Many of you know from DJ'ing, doing visuals, performing, playing with our children and clowning around, support breast cancer research, and fundraising for others.
NOW IT'S OUR TURN TO SUPPORT HER!!!
She deserves our support and love! She is specifically asking for prayers for her lungs and kidneys.

I have been visiting her a couple of times a week (they even let Aliza, my daughter visit a few weeks ago!) but with her family overseas and most of her close friends in the Koots she is feeling out of touch and alone. Her energy has been very low and at the moment she can't even eat or drink.
I'm stepping in to help in any way I can and will try to keep you all updated here on her behalf.

Over a month ago she flew to Vancouver to have a hysterectomy and VGH and admitted herself 2 days early when she was having a hard time breathing . . . only to be rushed into surgery for a pulmonary embolism. She was in ICU for over a week and then moved upstairs to the Gynecology ward to regain her strength and hopefully prepare for her surgery. Instead, the MRI showed a DESMOID TUMOUR FIBROMATOSIS, which is non-cancerous but fast-growing. The doctors decided to fly her back to the Kootenays to receive medical support but now she is having kidney failure and is being flown back to VGH tomorrow.

She is in need of acupuncture for nausea and general support if anyone has a recommendation of someone in Vancouver who would come to her at the hospital.
