After a brave (42+week) fight of Embryonal Rhabdomyosarcoma in 2015, the Brown's received confirmation in the fall that Sadie's cancer had relapsed. Sadie's treatment plan is aggressive and requires multiple in-hospital stays in Hackensack, NJ and radiation in NYC.
Starting next week, Sadie will be receiving daily radiation at Memorial Sloan Kettering in NYC. Her friends want to raise funds to alleviate the high costs and stress associated with Sadie's treatment. Our first priority will be to focus on funding their transportation to and from New York City; if those costs are met we may extend support towards other things to help the family like hiring a cleaning service, help around the house, etc.
**As we all know, Lizzie and Andy have been extremely humble throughout this journey so far and have not requested help of any kind. But as her friends, and as the financial stressors continue to mount, we thought it was time to take matters into our own hands! Please feel free to pass this note along to anyone who you think may want to contribute; however, we ask that you refrain from posting the link publicly or on social media.**
Please note: Funds raised will be directed to an account held and managed by Cynthia Verhave designated for the Brown family. Cynthia, Lindsey Robertson, Jen LaBracio and Stephanie White will work directly with the beneficiaries (the Brown Family) to deploy these funds as their needs indicate, so that we can manage the logistics for them. Any leftover funds will go directly to the Brown family or be donated to a cancer charity of their choice.
