We are raising funds to support Rylan, his wife, Sarah, and their two boys as Rylan undergoes treatment for leukemia.
Rylan is currently receiving multiple types of chemotherapy and is responding well. He is receiving incredible care from his medical team, and we are deeply grateful for the doctors, nurses, and specialists guiding him through treatment. True to who he is, Rylan has approached this diagnosis with remarkable positivity and humor—he’s even declared himself “good at cancer,” a mindset that seems to be helping carry him through each day.
While there is much to be thankful for, there is still a long road ahead. Rylan will be out of work for a minimum of six months. Although he qualifies for both short-term and long-term disability, there is a significant gap in processing time between the two—at least three months, and potentially longer—during which he will have no income. Rylan’s employer has been going above and beyond to support him during this time by holding his position and ensuring that his healthcare coverage continues while he undergoes treatment. This support has been an enormous relief, but it does not eliminate the day-to-day financial strain their family is facing. Rylan and Sarah are raising two young boys, and while Sarah is a dedicated teacher, her income alone cannot fully cover household expenses, medical costs, and everyday needs during this extended period without Rylan’s pay.
Looking ahead, once Rylan reaches remission, he will still need to undergo a stem cell transplant. Following the transplant, he will be unable to be around many people for approximately 100 days while his immune system is completely rebuilt. This fundraiser is intended to help bridge the gap—covering essentials such as housing costs, utilities, groceries, transportation to and from treatment, and other everyday expenses—so Rylan and Sarah can focus on healing, family, and getting through treatment without the added burden of financial stress.
Any contribution, no matter the size, is deeply appreciated. If you’re unable to donate, sharing this page or keeping Rylan, Sarah, and their children in your thoughts and prayers means more than we can say. Thank you for your kindness, generosity, and support during this time.
