Support for Ryan and John
Donation protected
All of the money contributed to this GoFundMe will be used to support Ryan and go directly to his father, Ryley John Brown (John).
Ryan is a 7-year-old boy living with Xp21 deletion syndrome, an extremely rare genetic condition that leaves him unable to walk or talk and in need of 24/7 care to survive. His devoted father, John, is Ryan’s primary caregiver and provider. When no childcare provider was willing or equipped to support a child with Ryan’s complex needs, John made the difficult decision to leave his career to care for his son full-time. Together, they face overwhelming emotional and financial challenges while navigating a system that often overlooks families like theirs. Your support can help ease their burden and ensure Ryan receives the care and dignity he deserves.
Every dollar you give goes directly toward improving Ryan’s quality of life. Some of the family’s most urgent needs include:
Uncovered Medical Expenses – Ryan requires constant, specialized medical care, much of which is not fully covered by insurance. Your support helps provide the treatments and equipment that keep him healthy and safe.
A Wheelchair-Accessible Van – As Ryan grows, safely transporting him has become increasingly difficult. A modified van would allow John to take Ryan to doctor appointments, therapy sessions, and out into the world more easily.
Legal Fees – John spends hundreds of dollars each month on a disability advocate to help Ryan navigate the system and access the services he deserves.
A Vacation - With John often working 18 hour days and Ryan needing constant care, they’ve had little opportunity to simply enjoy time together. Their dream is to one day take a long, peaceful vacation as father and son.
Thank you for supporting Ryan and John, and for helping make their time together a little more joyful and a little less burdened.
