Support for Ruth Moeller's Final Journey

I'm raising money to get my mother, Ruth Moeller, cremated and for other final expenses related to putting my mom to rest. I will be making a Facebook post about what's going on because, Lord help me, I never thought I would have to make a GoFundMe page just to get my mom cremated. My brother Josh has been taking advantage of my mother since my dad passed away. He promised my dad on his death bed that he was going to move in to care for my mom and wouldn't let anyone mess with her when he's been the only one causing her trouble this whole time.

My dad worked for a union for 32 years and made sure my mom would be taken care of after he passed. I just found out today that Josh had my mom add him onto her bank account so he could "help her" by being able to write checks and pay bills for her so she didn't have to worry about it and could focus on her own health issues. As you may know, my mom has been in and out of hospitals and nursing homes since December but was not allowed to go back home because of too many preventable cases of having to call 911 because my mom would be left for days without being checked on and would be in a diabetic ketoacidosis coma and severely dehydrated to the point of needing to be in ICU for days.

As a result, the hospital suggested she be placed in a nursing home where she could get 24-hour care. I didn't agree or understand why but figured at least she would be getting the care she needed and also thought Josh would now for sure be able to handle upkeep on her house and pay bills since he was now living at her place for 6 years without ever having a job. Nope, just gave him more money to pocket because he didn't have to worry about mom's expenses anymore. My grandma called me recently and told me my mom was crying because she didn't even have shoes or clothes so had to wear clothes from the lost and found at the nursing home because Josh wouldn't bring her anything or give her any money. We have made and filed reports of elder abuse, fraud, and financial abuse of a vulnerable adult, which are currently being investigated.

So Grandma, my Aunt Carol, Shane, Brandon and my son and I go to make arrangements for my mom at the funeral home which Josh never ended up showing and to also have a final viewing and final goodbye. My mom looked so beautiful and so peaceful. By the time all arrangements were made without a service or funeral the cost was close to $6,000. I then go to my mom's to talk to Josh about it since he's in charge of finances. He then told me that he wasn't going to write a check and the money needed to be taken out of my grandma's life insurance policy. WHAT?! So I immediately went to the bank to see how much my mom had in savings because with the $6,000 from my dad's pension, social security and other benefits my mom got EVERY MONTH, there should have been plenty to pay the bill.

I went to the bank to see what I could do. That is when I was informed the account was now property of my brother's. I was instantly sick. I sat and cried, and then was livid. I went back to my mom's and by then Josh had locked himself upstairs and refused to come down to face what he had done. I demanded him do the right thing and we left. On the way home I got a call saying that worst case scenario they would hold my mom for 6 days and at that point they would have to embalm her. So that is why I'm setting up the GoFundMe page. Never, in a million years would I think my own brother would do this to my mother and father. He also needs to be held accountable for his actions and carelessness.
