Support for Ruperto J Romo Fight & Final Wishes
My Journey
In October 2025, a trip to the ER for what I thought was routine abdominal pain changed my life forever. While I initially hoped for a simple diagnosis, a follow-up with my primary doctor revealed a small tumor on the head of my pancreas that had been overlooked. After months of navigating specialist referrals, repeated scans, and the complexities of my medical history, I received the news no one is ever prepared for: We initially hoped for early surgical intervention. However, on March 10th, after experiencing back pain and shortness of breath, doctors discovered a malignant mass in my lung. With the cancer now believed to be metastatic, my surgery has been postponed. I am currently awaiting a lung biopsy to finalize a treatment plan and begin chemotherapy as soon as possible.
The reality of a pancreatic cancer diagnosis is heavy. While I am fighting for every possible "extension" of time with my loved ones, I am also faced with the practical and financial reality of this disease. I am determined to get my affairs in order now so that my family is not left with the burden of guessing my final wishes or managing expenses during their time of grief. My primary goals for this fundraiser are: Medical Expenses: Assisting with the costs of chemotherapy and ongoing specialized care. End-of-Life Services: I have already begun making payments toward my cremation and final arrangements. I hope to pay these off in full to ensure peace of mind for my mother, brother and sister.
Any contribution, no matter the size, will go directly toward these expenses and allow me to focus my remaining energy on my health and my family rather than financial stress. I am profoundly grateful for the love, support, and prayers I have received over the years. Your kindness during this incredibly difficult time means more to me than words can express.
