Hi, my name is Rujaine, and I am asking for help for my dad.

On Sunday night, December 7th, my dad was taken to Baptist Doctors Hospital. The doctors ran labs and a CT scan and found a mass in his frontal lobe. Hearing those words was absolutely devastating for our family. He was rushed to Baptist Main, where he is currently admitted and being cared for by the neurosurgery team. An MRI confirmed what we were most afraid of: my dad has a brain tumor (glioblastoma). It is aggressive and growing. Today, December 9th at 7:30 a.m., he is undergoing a major brain surgery to remove as much of the tumor as possible. The doctors expect to remove at least 90%, but because the tumor is affecting other parts of his brain, they cannot safely take it all out. This surgery and diagnosis will completely change his life. After surgery, he will need ongoing chemotherapy and radiation therapy, and he will not be able to work for an extended period of time. Our family is trying to prepare for the road ahead, but we know we cannot do this alone. We are reaching out to our friends, family, and anyone who is able to help. Any donation will go toward:

La noche del domingo 7 de diciembre, llevaron a mi papá al Baptist Doctors Hospital. Los doctores le hicieron laboratorios y una tomografía (CT scan) y encontraron una masa en el lóbulo frontal. Escuchar esas palabras fue devastador para nuestra familia. Lo trasladaron de urgencia a Baptist Main, donde actualmente está ingresado y siendo atendido por el equipo de neurocirugía. Una resonancia magnética (MRI) confirmó lo que más temíamos: mi papá tiene un tumor cerebral (glioblastoma). Es agresivo y está creciendo. Hoy, 9 de diciembre a las 7:30 a.m., se está sometiendo a una cirugía cerebral mayor para remover la mayor cantidad posible del tumor. Los médicos esperan poder retirar al menos el 90%, pero como el tumor afecta otras partes del cerebro, no pueden quitarlo por completo de manera segura. Esta cirugía y este diagnóstico cambiarán su vida por completo. Después de la operación, necesitará quimioterapia y radioterapia de manera continua, y no podrá trabajar por un período prolongado.
