Support for Roy and Janelle Fetzer.
One month ago, Roy Fetzer, Logan IHC Superintendent was on the Pack Creek Fire in Moab, Utah. He was called off that fire and is now with his wife, Janelle at the Huntsman's Cancer Institute, University of Utah Medical Center.
Janelle has been diagnosed with stage 4 metastatic adenocarcinoma colon cancer. She will begin chemotherapy on July 12, 2021. While her cancer is not curable, with chemotherapy and immunotherapy they are hoping to manage it and make the most of the time they have left together.
Janelle and Roy married in 2016. In 2018, Madeleine joined their family. Janelle is not only a mother to Madeleine but has also become an important person to Roy’s other children, Tyler, Katy and Colton. A Florida native, she relocated to Soda Springs, Idaho where she met and married Roy.
Roy's career has been primarily on hotshot crews, beginning in the 1990's on the Baker River. He served as an Infantry Sergeant in the U.S. Army, after his military service he went to the Boise IHC. He has been with the Logan IHC since 2007 and has been Superintendent since 2011 to now.
