Ron Richard is a dear friend, a devoted husband, a loving father, brother, and proud grandfather. Anyone who knows Ron knows how much joy, humor, and heart he brings to those around him. Now, he and his family need our help.

In the early morning hours, while lying in bed, Ron experienced a sudden, sharp pain that radiated to his back with each heartbeat. Thinking it might be a pulled muscle, the ER initially sent him home. But as the pain worsened, Ron returned to the hospital, where a CT scan revealed the unthinkable: a life-threatening aortic dissection—a tear in the inner layer of the large artery leaving the heart. He was immediately airlifted to Stanford Hospital for an emergency ten-hour surgery to save his life.

Ron’s road to recovery will be long, uncertain, and expensive. Between medical bills, emergency air transport, time away from work, travel and lodging for his family, and the upcoming rehabilitation process, the financial burden is overwhelming.
