Hi, my name is Brandy Gowan. Roland Blocker is my brother in law. Mandy is my twin sister.  Roland & Mandy have been married over 21 years. They have two wonderful teenage sons. One of which who has cerebral palsy.

 

Roland is a hard working husband and father. He has been driving trucks since he was 18 years old. He is known for being a jokester and even better friend. If you need something, he’s who you call. He loves helping others. Supporting and providing for his family has ALWAYS been his top priority.

 

For the last four months they have been searching for answers in and out of doctor offices as well as several Emergency room/ Urgent Care visits. His health and mobility has drastically declined to the point that he has not been able to work for over three months. During this time they have cleaned out all of their savings.

 

Roland has been diagnosed with Renal Cell Carcinoma Kidney cancer.

He is currently being treated at

Ochsner Medical Center in New Orleans, Louisiana. He will be there over the next several weeks. He will need many more scans and have surgery to remove the mass in his kidney with a possibility of a full hip replacement due to lesions on his hip. Following his stay there he will continue treatment at a Cancer center.

 

We do not have all of the answers at this time. We will update this account when we know more. Roland & Mandy would never ask for help. So I am asking on their behalf. The burden of this news is enough on its own without having to worry about how to pay for the mortgage and the hefty hospital bill they will have. Many of his friends, co-workers, family and church family are eager to help. At this time the best way you can help is to pray & donate.
