On February 23, 2026, our family experienced a devastating and unexpected loss. Roderick Maurice Crawford — a devoted father, grandfather, son, nephew, and friend — was tragically taken from us by a senseless and unjust act of violence.

Roderick was a proud and active member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. His commitment to the Bond was not casual — it was lifelong. He valued brotherhood, service, achievement, and community impact. To his fraternity brothers, he was dependable, loyal, and present. To our family, he was strength, protection, and love.

He loved his community deeply and showed that love through his presence and participation. He was full of life — energetic, outspoken, protective, and proud of the people he called his own.

In addition to being the heart of our family, Roderick was also the primary caregiver for our grandmother, who is living with dementia. His sudden passing has left both an emotional and financial void that we are now navigating together.

We are seeking to raise $15,000, which will help our family accomplish the following:

• Cover funeral and burial expenses

• Cemetery and interment costs

• Memorial and celebration-of-life arrangements

• Programs and service-related expenses

• Immediate transition support and care needs for our grandmother
