ROCKET and the BLING QUEEN, also known as Jim and Charlee Scott, need your help. Rocket is in his final days. There is no easy way to say that. Charlee is facing overwhelming medical bills, moving expenses, and so much more. Once he is gone, she will not have the financial ability to maintain the house. We need your help to ensure that Rocket's medical bills don't bankrupt her and to assist her in moving once he is gone. Charlee cannot maintain the house on her income alone, and since the VA still hasn't listed Jim as 100% disabled, she will not receive survivor income once he is gone.
Charlee doesn't like asking for help, but for over a decade, she has been there to support every fundraiser, every pass the hat, every ALR Flag Steal - up until Jim's health declined to the point that she couldn't leave him alone for any period of time. Now he cannot even leave the house, let alone ride. Jim is a 20 year Navy Veteran. His work removing asbestos from ship hulls in the 70's-90's led to the Small Cell Lung Cancer that is rapidly taking him from us. This diagnosis is less than a month old and already in the end stages. As many of you in our Veteran Community knows first hand, his fight with the VA has gone on for years. He has been diagnosed with and fighting Frontotemporal Dementia, Parkinson's and Hydrocephalus, along with other medical issues caused by his service to our country. This last hospitalization and time in Acute Care Rehab is where we learned about the cancer. He was discharged on Hospice Care less than 2 weeks ago. He is deteriorating quickly and we just don't have time to fight the system at this point.
So, I'm coming to the Veteran Community, Legion and his friends and family on his behalf. On Charlee's behalf. Jim's service dog, Chiva, will stay with Charlee after Jim is gone and G&I K9 will continue to support her and Chiva. Please join us helping to ensure that Jim knows his wife and dog will be taken care of once he journeys to the other side. Your support will make a world of difference for Charlee and honor Jim's service and sacrifice.
