Hello, my name is Giovanni Coco and if you’re reading this I would like to start by saying thank you for giving me your time and consideration to my Dads story. On September 20th 2022 my Dad, Rob Coco, received a devastating diagnosis of Stage 4 liver cancer which has metastasized to his lungs. For those of you that know him know how undeniably talented he is, but for those who don’t, my Dad was a true born artist, from free hand drawing and painting to his natural ear for playing instruments, he was one of a kind. He also loves cooking and has revolved most of his life around eating the healthiest of the foods and staying very active. He rode his bike countless miles a day and enjoyed being outside every chance he got. Unfortunately, the progression of his terminal illness and the physical pain that’s come with it has consumed most things he loves but more importantly our time left with him. Out of the respect for my dad while undergoing numerous diagnostic testings, doctors appointments, hospital visits and treatments he asked that our family didn’t publicize the news. However, his condition has rapidly progressed and is even more aggressive than we expected in this short period of time. We wanted to share his story in hopes that it could reach as many people as possible and ask for your helping hands.
My Mom, Carolyn Coco, whom is one of the most loving, strongest and selfless individual in my life, has been sacrificing everything to provide for my Dad. She is the sole financial provider for them and the expenses have become unmanageable. From keeping up with the countless medical bills to making sure there is food on the table for our family, this financial stress is incomprehensible.
Early this week we received the news that he will need to inquire on Hospice care from this point forward. There are 2 options in Hospice, either at home care or in-patient care, unfortunately their home isn’t suitable for the process to occur. The only other option is long term care but little did we know, long term care is not covered by their insurance and would cost upwards of 3,000 per month, which is far more than they can afford. It is in my Dad wishes that he go to a facility to live the remainder of his life in a pain-free and peaceful environment. On behalf of myself and my family are asking for any help in ensuring our Dad and Husband can live out the rest of his life as he deserves.
Thank you in advance for giving my Dad your time. It is greatly appreciated.
