My name is Debby Marchionda and I am raising funds to help my cousin, Robin Bon. In the early morning hours of Wednesday, February 3rd, she was awakened to thick, blinding smoke in her house. She stumbled to hurriedly see what the cause was, terrified that her house was on fire. She is 71 years old and lives with her 4 cats. No, her house wasn't on fire, but the duplex next to her was. The people living there were using space heaters as their primary source of heat. They were not home when the fire broke out. The fire quickly engulfed the neighbors' house. As Robin stood outside, she watched helplessly as her house was ripped apart by the fire department in an attempt to keep the fire contained to one side. Her 4 cats were in her house, and that was her main concern. In the end, she lost 2 of her beloved fur babies and most of her possessions. She is now left to start over at 71 years of age. She did have homeowners insurance, but that can sometimes take several weeks to come through. All clothing and possessions suffered smoke and water damage and are a total loss. Nowhere to live, no clothes, no furniture, and the loss of her cats is beyond devastating and mentally crippling. She is currently staying with her daughter and grandson, but it's a 2-bedroom house. She has her 2 remaining cats with her in a crate, which they have never been in. If you can help with any amount, it would be greatly appreciated to help her try to start over.
