My name is Amy and I volunteer with a few different orgs in Northern VA supporting our migrant neighbors and I am advocating for a family that could really use some support. A couple months ago Robert had a medical emergency that put him in a coma and the hospital for two months. His wife, Joanna, had been doing her best to cover bills after losing his income, but the hospital forced discharge despite him still needing 24-hour care, so now she can't work so she can take care of her husband.

All of his doctors and hospital staff have stated that it is nothing short of a miracle that he is alive. They even recommended taking him off life support when he was in a coma but Joanna refused.

As I'm sure you can imagine, going from two incomes two no income put an incredible amount of stress on this family. And they still have a child in school. We would love to collect enough funds to cover rent and/or a home health aid so Joanna can go back to work.
