With heavy hearts, we share the passing of Roberta Cordero, our dear elder and friend. She was a devoted and loving mother, grandmother, community member and leader. Her work and vibrant energy will live on with all who knew her and the places she did so much to protect.

Roberta had fought through the lasting effects of a major stroke for the past five years, her stubborn and fiery spirit never leaving her. In her last days, she spent her time surrounded by many who loved her and who had been unmeasurably affected by her love and teachings. The sharing of stories and songs were constant. The room was filled with laughter, love and the most sincere gratitude for her presence, every moment.

As her family navigates this immense loss, they are faced with the burden of funeral expenses. Wanting to honor her passing with the services and ceremony she deserves, we ask humbly for any support to make it possible. Her five children, nine grandchildren and two great grandchildren plan to travel to California to attend her ceremony and the expenses alone for travel are greater than what is manageable.
