Support for Robert Solano Ortega's Funeral Costs

Donation protected
Honoring Robert Solano Ortega,

With a very heavy heart, we are devastated to announce the passing of our Dad, Robert Ortega. During this time of immense loss, we are reaching out for support to cover his funeral expenses, to put our Dad to rest the way he truly deserves.
Dad has always had the biggest heart. On many occasions, I have witnessed him giving away his last of anything he had, even when this would hurt him. Dad was loving, caring, and always attempting to make his audience laugh. He had such an intense look with his beautiful eyes; he could make you feel so special and loved.
He was very loved by so many as a Dad, Grandpa, Uncle, Brother, and Husband.
Our dad overcame huge obstacles his whole entire life. Against all odds, he grew into a resilient, loving, caring man with this larger-than-life heart he had.
In December 2018, his wife and he suffered a house fire. With no insurance, they lived in their partially burned house with tarps overhead and no utilities.
In January 2021, he lost his wife. He carried her to the ambulance, and this was the last time he ever got to feel her heart beating against his chest. Sadly, he suffered a heart attack the night of her burial. In Feb-March 2021, he had a few stays in ICU with congestive heart failure. In March 2021, he lost his daughter and granddaughter tragically. The day after he was released from the hospital, we took him to attend their burial. A week later, a very special Linda passed away. He was never the same.
Our dad was a real-life dog whisperer. All his dogs were his children, and they ate before he did. He always sacrificed himself, always. He opted to live in the streets this recent year with his last two precious dogs rather than stay with any family.
In the end, he succumbed and went to live with our dear cousin Christy, who is like our sister and so precious to him.
Friday, December 20th, our beloved dad suffered a major stroke and was in ICU. Saturday, December 21, he went to sit at our Lord's table.
We are so very sad and devastated. We are also unprepared. All donations would help us with funeral and burial costs. We thank you for your generosity, love, and support during this incredibly difficult time.
We thank you from the bottom of our hearts as this means the world to us.
We are also asking to please be lifted in continued prayer.

Presbyterian Plano has been very gracious. The director of nursing told me to take all the time I needed to figure this out and he would be safe with them until then. Amen.
Gonzales Funeral home gave us the cheapest quote. It's $8000 plus another almost $3000 for open & close at the cemetery with $3000 more for additional. Every bit will help us and we truly appreciate it!
