Robert was born on July 1, 1965, and passed away tragically on Wednesday, January 22, 2026, in a car accident on Highway 17 while driving home from work. His sudden passing left an immeasurable void in the lives of all who knew and loved him.
Robert is survived by his devoted wife of 26 years, Miriam, and his seven beloved children: Heather, Michelle, Annelise, Jacob, Isabel, William, and Rebekah. He was a deeply committed husband and a proud, loving father who always put his family first.
Known for his big personality and quick wit, Robert had a joke for every situation and a way of making people smile even on the hardest days. He brought laughter, warmth, and kindness wherever he went.
Robert worked for Guittard Chocolate in Burlingame, California, for 10 years, where he was a valued and respected employee. He was known as a dependable and knowledgeable worker, but more importantly he was a dear friend to many of those he worked with.
In addition to this devastating loss, Robert's family has endured immense hardships over the past year. In June of last year, they lost their family home in San Jose due to a fire. Since then, they have not had a permanent place to live and are currently staying on a boat in Moss Landing. Miriam, who spent their marriage as a homemaker caring for their family, is now facing these challenges while grieving the loss of her husband.
The family is seeking financial assistance to help cover Robert's funeral expenses and to begin rebuilding their lives after losing both their home and their primary source of income. Any support, whether financial contributions, sharing their story, or keeping them in your thoughts and prayers, means more than words can express.
Robert will be remembered for his humor, his heart, his dedication to his family, and the love he freely gave. His legacy lives on through his wife, his children, and all those whose lives he touched.
