Robert Cook was the rock of our family—someone we could always count on, who raised us to be compassionate and loving people. He was the first to step up whenever anyone needed help, and his devotion to his wife of 62 years was unwavering. He served his country with pride and did everything he could to protect and care for those he loved.

His passing was unexpected and has left a deep void in our lives. After surviving a month-long battle with COVID-19 in 2020, his health continued to decline, and he struggled with his breathing. Earlier this year, we found a doctor who could visit him at home, as he could only breathe comfortably while sitting in his chair. A recent CT scan revealed a massive growth in his lungs, and once my dad learned of this, he seemed to know it was time to go. He entered hospice and passed away after just one day.

While he had some life insurance, the funeral expenses and other costs have become overwhelming for my mom. She now faces paying off their home in Austin, Texas, and adjusting to life without his income. All expenses must come from her savings, adding to the stress of this difficult time.
