Robert “Robbie” James Smith our dear son, brother, grandson, and friend passed away on November 3, 2025, in Payson, Utah. Robbie was born to Donald Arthur Smith and DeAnn Elizabeth Carter in Provo, Utah on March 16, 1996. Robbie played in the bagpipe band and graduated from Payson High School. He went on to study at Utah Valley University and Southern Utah University. He worked at Costa Vida and Smith’s Grocery for a short time.
Robbie was incredibly intelligent; he learned Japanese and Spanish languages and classical guitar on his own in his spare time. He enjoyed engaging in deep and meaningful conversations with others. Robbie was gifted and he was truly a tech wizard. He built his own computers and excelled in the field of IT professionally. He loved tradition. Creatively, he was a talented actor and singer. Robbie served five service missions at the Nauvoo Pageant performing with the bagpipe band. He loved riding bikes, sometimes riding 70 miles in a day several days in a row, and taking road trips. He practiced Kendo, a modern Japanese martial art based on samurai swordsmanship, and played tennis. And he caught all the Pokémon!
He worked hard at everything he set out to do. Robbie was thoughtful, generous, and put others before himself. He would give the shirt off his back to help someone in need. Robbie loved his pets, and his family was the most important to him.
Robbie is survived by his parents Don and (Kelly) Smith and DeAnn and (Don) Thomas; siblings, Ian (Kendra) Smith, Nick Goodman, Tate Goodman, McKay Goodman, Romey Goodman, and Molly Goodman; nephews, Miles Smith and Liam Smith; and his grandparents, Bob and Mary Carter. He will also be missed by his cats Buggy and Katmandu. He is preceded in death by his grandparents Jim and Verlene Smith.
