Our hearts are shattered as we share the sudden passing of our dear friend, Rob Sanderson.

Rob was a smiling beacon of positive energy who made everyone around him feel seen and valued. No matter how many people were in the room, if you were talking with Rob, his sole focus was on you. He was inquisitive, kind, selfless, thoughtful, and incredibly funny. His smile was contagious, and his enthusiasm for sharing stories and moments made everyone lucky enough to be part of them feel happier.

Rob had a rare gift… he made people feel important. He was genuinely interested in others and always ready to help however he could. Rob never met a stranger, and he never made anyone feel like one. His warmth and magnetic spirit drew people in, and our lives are better because we knew him.

That character showed up early in his life. In high school, Rob worked two jobs to pay his own way—waking up before school to work at Kinko’s and later working a second job at Cellular One. That work ethic and dedication carried him through a 25-year career with Verizon Wireless, where he recently achieved a well-deserved promotion to Director.

While Rob was incredibly proud of his career, nothing meant more to him than his family.

Rob leaves behind his beautiful wife Jamie, and their two children: Kate, who attends The Ohio State University, and Charlie, a student at Upper Arlington High School. They were the center of his world, and he spoke about them with endless pride and love.

This fundraiser has been created to help support Jamie, Kate, and Charlie as they navigate this unimaginable loss. Any contributions will help ease financial burdens in the months ahead and allow the family the time and space they need to grieve and heal.

If you knew Rob, you know how deeply he cared about others and how freely he gave of himself. Now it’s our turn to show that same care and support for the family he loved so dearly.
