Honoring Jake and Supporting River

We are deeply saddened to share the news that Jake Pospical, a Marine veteran and beloved father, has passed away last Sunday, on June 30th. Jake served his country with honor and faced challenges most of us can only imagine. Despite his strength and resilience, he struggled with his own demons and the added struggles of adjusting to civilian life. His passing has left a void in our hearts and in the life of his precious daughter, River.

Jake was one to be remembered by his service and an immense love for his family. As a Marine, he was known for his commitment to his friends and his country-- as well has his deep love and admiration for wildlife. He faced everything with esprit de corps and inspired those around him. However, like many veterans, Jake found it difficult to transition from the military to the home front.

River, Jake’s bright and beautiful daughter, was the light of his life. She brought him joy and pride, and he cherished every moment spent with her. River is now left to navigate a future without her loving father. We, as Jake’s friends, family, and community, are coming together to ensure that River is supported, loved, and provided for during this incredibly difficult time.

Our goal with this GoFundMe campaign is to help cover the costs of Jake’s funeral and to create a fund for River’s future. We want to give Jake the dignified farewell he deserves and to provide financial security for River as she grows up without her father. Your donations will go towards:

Funeral Expenses: Ensuring Jake receives a respectful and honorable service. This includes costs for the funeral home, burial or cremation, a memorial service, and other related expenses.

Support for River: Establishing a fund that will assist with River’s immediate needs, including counseling and support services, as well as her long-term education and well-being. We want to ensure that River has every opportunity to thrive despite this tragic loss.
