Support for Rising Stars of Africa Academy

Donation protected

First of all, we would like to congratulate all Front Line workers for putting their lives at risk in these difficult times to help each and everyone of us and to all who are adhering to the government and health professionals guidelines and advice to stay at home and keep safe.

Various major Governments have allocated funding to help the charity sector globally. Unfortunately, this is not the case in Ghana with Rising Stars of Africa where our  work is operational and we have to fully rely on Travel Customers participation (Volunteers Overseas) to fund the Academy in areas such as  Education, Welfare, Training, Staff maintenance etc.

Unfortunately this has come to a standstill with no participant travelling at the moment because of the Covid-19, making it almost impossible to sustain the Project both in the short and long term.

The Rising Stars of Africa Academy helps young individuals reach their full potential in Education and Sports and have seen major progress and achievement with Scholars achieving both Academic and Sporting excellence in the US over the past years. The Academy has placed 7 Boys and Girl at schools in the US with Illal Osmanu graduating at Marshall University and currently playing for a USL Team, Alex Adjetey currently on a full scholarship at Virginia Tech, Joshua Bolma, a promising and outstanding athlete and student currently committed to Maryland University, Mohammed Seidu, Augustine Boadi and Jessica Lomo are current at South Kent , Northfield Mount Hermon(NMH) and Berkshire(2020 Fall) respectively.

We have all decided to help fundraise to help sustain the work in Ghana and all monies raised will go to areas not limited to the following:

Target: £20,000.

1. Funding for flight costs/ Visas for Boys and Girls to US on Scholarships -£5000
2. Supporting existing scholars in the US in these difficult times with supplies such as laptops needed for working at home(£500/laptop)- £1500
3. Transport back to campus and hosting Scholars- £2000
4. Accommodation and Care for 50 boys and girls(£100/Scholar) - £5000
5. Training kits and Equipment- £1500
6. Educational/health and welfare support during the convid-19 crisis- £5000
7. Any extra monies raised will go towards finishing our Accommodation Project for the Academy to host all 50 Boys and Girls under the Programme.
