On Saturday, 10/11/2025, Rich suffered a sudden and serious stroke. The following morning, (Saturday) he required an emergency surgery to remove a piece of the clot that had traveled into his brain.

Thanks to the quick actions of the medical team at RIH, Rich is now in recovery and resting. However, his journey is far from over. While we do not know the extent of the effects from the stroke just yet, we do know he will need to spend significant time in an inpatient rehabilitation facility once he is discharged from the hospital to regain his strength.

This unexpected medical crisis has placed a heavy emotional and financial burden on his wife, Liz, and their 8-year-old son. During this time, Liz will face lost income and growing medical expenses as she focuses on supporting Rich through his recovery.

Rich is the heart of his family — a devoted dad, loving husband, and loyal friend to all. He’s known for his warm, friendly personality and his ability to strike up a conversation with anyone. A true conversationalist at heart. When he isn’t throwing pitches to his son on the fields for practice, you could find him cheering on the CWLL kids under the lights of the beautiful fields Cranston has to offer the the young baseball players. After school you can usually find the family on an after-school bike ride, often ending with an ice cream pit stop on a sunny afternoon.

This family has always given so much love & laughter to those around them, and now it’s our turn to show that same love back.
