Supporting the Lamon’s - The Loss of Riah Lamon-Kemp

Hello, my name is Alyssa Lamon. My beautiful mother-in-law, Jessica, suffered a loss no parent should ever have to endure. My brother-in-law, Riah Lamon-Kemp, on May 12 at about 10 PM, was struck and killed by a car while he was riding his electric bike home after work on the same route that he went every single day. He was fiery, hard-working, and determined to make his own way in this life. He died approximately a day and a half before his 20th birthday, May 14. He was literally just a kid. He was just talking with his mom about seeing her for the first time in weeks and having a birthday lunch together. He hadn’t gotten to meet his brand new niece yet. Our mother is totally devastated, completely heartbroken, and unable to function properly, as she should.

Riah was a very simple dude. He wouldn’t have wanted anything big and extravagant. He would’ve wanted a small celebration with his family.

In order to alleviate the stress of the Lamon family, consisting of my mother-in-law, Jessica, her daughter, Kayla, and my husband, Trevor, Riah’s siblings, and Riah’s grandfather, Lyle, and his niece and nephews, I’m creating this GoFundMe to raise funds for the cost of the cremation services, a celebration of life, and any remaining funds would go to his mother in order to help her take care of anything left behind during this time. If we have a lot of family and friends, near and far, who may not be able to attend the celebration of life but still would like to help with the cost, this is for you.

He was the baby of their family and nothing will ever justify what happened to him and nothing will ever soothe the pain that this family is in. He was taken from this world much too early. He never really got a chance to live. Riah will never get married or have children. He will never get to watch his nieces and nephews grow.
