Rebecca Renee Richey Schmidtlein, lovingly known as Becca, Beccus, or Rebeeka, was the shining sun of our family. She was beautiful both inside and out, and her warmth touched everyone she met. Rebecca was an incredible mother to Easton, her favorite person in the universe, and she raised an amazing young man who will carry her light forward. She excelled as a student and law clerk, and her talents extended to art, jewelry-making, sewing, and writing. Rebecca lived life to the fullest, daring to skydive and embracing the quiet beauty of nature. She was a huge animal lover and found joy in rainy days and peaceful moments outdoors. Rebecca was the most amazing mother, sister, daughter, and friend anyone could hope for, and I always admired how deeply she lived life.
Rebecca faced a very difficult last year with her health and career, yet even in her hardest moments, she was always there to help others, giving generously to friends and strangers alike. On June 3, 2026, Rebecca passed away unexpectedly, leaving behind a heartbroken family and her beloved son, Easton, who is only 13. As we navigate this devastating loss, we are asking for support to help cover funeral and memorial expenses so we can honor Rebecca’s life and give her the farewell she deserves. Any funds remaining after these expenses will be placed into a trust for Easton to help provide for his future, education, and the needs he will face growing up without his mother.
