Hello, Im Michael. This fundraiser is for the funeral expenses of my mother-in-law Rebeca who passed away Friday February 27th 2026 after a five year battle with cancer. She leaves behind her husband, daughter, and granddaughter. Rebeca was a passionate person, full of energy, focus, and love for her family. These qualities, along with the never-ending support of my wife allowed Rebeca to far outlived the 18 month life expectancy she was originally given by her doctors.

Rebeca planned far ahead regarding her end-of-life funeral plans and expenses, not wanting things to become a financial burden. A long time resident of Spain she purchased burial expense coverage from there. Due to her illness however, which required constant monthly testing, transfusions, and treatments, she stayed with us in Utah. Upon her death, we were shocked to learn that her insurance from Spain refused to cover any expenses because she was living outside Spain, while being treated in Utah where she passed away. We have therefore started this gofundme to bridge the financial gap.
