The past 5 months have been a rollercoaster ride! It started with me finding a movable mass the size of a grapefruit in my abdomen. We did every test possible (most of them twice): CT scans, X-rays, MRIs, biopsies, ultrasounds, exploratory surgery, an echo, and so much blood work. A million different doctors and diagnoses. Come to find out that I have 2 tumors, both the size of grapefruits, plus a bunch of little ones lining my abdomen and liver. After doing all that and seeing it with their own eyes, they still couldn’t tell me what it actually was. Until they sent my samples to John Hopkins University in Pittsburgh and they came back with the C word. Cancer. A very rare soft tissue sarcoma to be exact. It doesn’t have a fancy name; it’s actually quite complicated. “EWSR1::NFATc2 Sarcoma”

Today I start my chemotherapy. I’ve been staying positive and doing everything I need to do to prepare for this. I am so grateful to have so much love and so much support. I am sharing this in hopes that any of you with experience, advice, tips, and tricks on dealing with and recovering from chemo will share them with me.
